Nik is a dedicated and dynamic management professional with over two decades of hands-on managerial experience in the fields of First Nations operations, economic development, business administration, tourism and recreational facilities.

Corey Rich

Corey joined the Tla-o-qui-aht Development Corporation (TDC) in 2026 as the Director of Finance and Administration, bringing over 16 years of business leadership and an MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership from SFU. Tasked with scaling the organization’s financial and operational capacity, he oversees strategic planning, investment analysis, and the administrative systems essential for long-term growth. Corey’s professional approach is deeply community-centered—informed by his own Indigenous heritage—focusing on initiatives that foster sustainable well-being and local capacity. A devoted father and an advocate for the West Coast lifestyle, he blends high-level fiscal oversight with a personal commitment to the economic vision of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation.

Lorie Dillon

Based in Tofino on the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation, Lorie is a versatile finance leader with a background as a Business Manager, Financial Officer, and Finance Controller. She combines deep technical expertise in accounting with a reputation for meticulous detail and organizational agility. Inspired by the natural resilience of the Pacific coast, Lorie ensures long-term fiscal stability while maintaining a grounded, community-focused approach to management.

Marketing and Communications Manager - TDC

Parker Scott

Parker Scott is the Marketing and Communications Manager for Tla-o-qui-aht Development Corporation. She moved to Tofino two years ago and quickly fell in love with the place, its people, and the strong sense of community. Parker holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and began her journey locally at the front desk of Tin Wis Resort before stepping into the Interim Marketing Manager role for Tin Wis Resort and Tsawaak RV Resort & Campground. She is deeply grateful to now serve in her role with TDC, supporting its entities and contributing to the growth and strength of the community.

Alec joined TDC mid summer in 2024. With a background in Tourism Management he brings a passion for fostering positive experiences and developing impactful communication methods.

Jared Beaton

Jared Beaton is a seasoned hospitality executive and the General Manager of the  Tin Wis and Tsawaak RV Resorts in Tofino. With a background managing large-scale operations and remote workforce housing, Jared excels in capital activities, service excellence, and fostering positive work cultures. Beyond his operational expertise, he is deeply committed to Truth and Reconciliation, working closely with the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation to advance Indigenous economic development. An outdoor enthusiast and devoted family man, Jared balances his high-level leadership with a passion for community inclusivity and the natural beauty of the West Coast.

Maria Clark

Maria Clark is from the ʕaaḥuusʔatḥ and ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ Nations and is dedicated to elevating Indigenous voices, values, and leadership within the tourism economy. Grounded in culture and community, her work focuses on building Nation-based business capacity and advancing economic self-determination. Through initiatives like Tin Wis 10 in 10, Maria supports Indigenous workforce development, leadership growth, and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about creating opportunities for future generations to thrive on their homelands and in their industries. Maria also contributes her expertise to regional and provincial tourism boards and advisory committees, while co-managing Tin Wis and her own fabrication business on the coast.

Kyle Mander

Kyle is a versatile hospitality leader who transitioned from a decade of professional wilderness guiding in Jasper to mastering high-level facility operations. Combining a background in outdoor adventure with deep technical expertise in carpentry and proactive infrastructure planning, he currently serves as the Manager of Tsawaak RV Resort and the Maintenance Manager for Tin Wis. Kyle is known for his hands-on leadership and commitment to enhancing the guest experience through meticulous property stewardship. An avid surfer who draws inspiration from the Tofino coast, he blends technical problem-solving with a dedication to excellence and sustainable resort management.

Rachel is the Digital Marketing Manager for Tin Wis Resort and Tsawaak RV Resort, where she translates her deep-rooted passion for Tofino into high-impact creative strategies. Since joining the team over four years ago, she has evolved from guest services into a versatile "marketing unicorn," leading everything from beach-front photoshoots to large-scale guest engagement campaigns. A certified yoga instructor and ocean enthusiast, Rachel’s work is defined by an infectious energy and a philosophy of mindfulness. Her unique ability to blend authentic local storytelling with professional sales growth makes her a vital driver of the resorts' brand identity and community presence.

Audrey is a qualified, professional development manager with six years of experience managing capacity building and economic development programs.

She currently is the Development Manager for the Ha'oom Fisheries Society in Tofino.

Salman Azam

Salman is a seasoned executive with an extensive track record of leading high-stakes government initiatives and multi-million dollar transformation programs. Known for his ability to turn around underperforming projects, he has successfully navigated intense public scrutiny, from managing 2010 Olympic transit readiness to negotiating major labor disputes. With deep expertise in board governance for Indigenous Economic Development Corporations and a robust multi-jurisdictional network, Salman blends strategic policy development with the decisive leadership required for large-scale crisis management and national training initiatives.

Mike Achtem

With over 30 years of experience, Mike is a founding principal of Gwaii Engineering, specializing in innovative solutions and value engineering for critical infrastructure and housing. He brings extensive expertise to his role as a senior reviewer and project manager, currently leading complex developments for First Nations communities across British Columbia, including Tla’amin, Ucluelet, Mowachaht/Muchalaht, and Seabird Island. Beyond his project management and design work, Mike’s leadership extends to governance, where he has served multiple terms as a Board Member for both the Sqéwqel Development Corporation and the Seaboard Corporation.

Cherie Williams

Tseqwakus Chérie Williams, originally from Tla-o-qui-aht territory, is a seasoned professional who blends a background in commercial fishing with high-level academic and corporate achievement. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce and an International MBA, she built a successful career in banking management while actively serving her community through various local boards. Currently a member of the TFNEDC Board of Directors and a former member of the Tin Wis Resort Board, Chérie brings a unique perspective rooted in her Tla-o-qui-aht and Québécois heritage and a lifelong commitment to Indigenous economic development.

Bob MacPherson

Originally from Nova Scotia, Bob MacPherson is a seasoned leader in municipal governance and resort planning with a career spanning from the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District to the District of Tofino. A UBC Landscape Architecture alumnus, Bob has held pivotal roles—including Chief Administrative Officer and General Manager of Planning and Development—specializing in the unique challenges of West Coast community growth. Now focusing on strategic advisory and mentorship for emerging managers, he continues to shape regional development through his board positions with WCS Engagement and Planning and his past service with the Tofino Housing Corporation.
