The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation owns Canoe Creek Hydro, Haa-ak-suuk Creek Hydro, and Winchie Creek Hydro, operated by Highway 4 Hydro.
We take great pride in our hydropower projects, which are planned, constructed and operated in a manner that is respectful of TFN cultural heritage, the natural environment and the species who inhabit it.
The Nation is located in a territory with a natural abundance of rainfall and mountainous terrain, which has enabled the development of small hydropower facilities. This corresponds with the Nation’s vision of a sustainable economy using clean and renewable energy, while providing jobs for the community.
