Tin Wis Resort

The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation owns and operates Tin Wis Resort.

Tin Wis is derived from Tinuwis, meaning “calm waters,” expressing how the waves calm as they enter this protected cove which continues to be a haven for all who come. In 1993, the 56-room Tin Wis opened, then was expanded in two phases to 85 rooms in 1996: every one with an ocean view.

The Nation, Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks, and the Resort continue to work together to support economic development for the Nation and community through collaborative partnership and respect. Maintaining and improving this investment is key to retaining the jobs it provides for TFN members, which has job opportunities for up to 50 employees during the summer season.
